How we review
Fixed Wireless is an independent publication focused on 5G home internet, fixed wireless access, and satellite connectivity. We exist to help people outside cable and fiber coverage find service that actually works.
Our ranking methodology
Every carrier, plan, modem, and piece of equipment on this site is evaluated against four criteria:
- Real-world performance. We weight published coverage data against independent speed-test sources (M-Lab, Ookla) and community reports (r/tmobileisp, r/verizon).
- Pricing transparency. Plans with hidden fees, introductory rates that expire, or mandatory equipment fees get marked down.
- Contract terms. No-contract, no-data-cap offerings are preferred. Early termination fees are called out.
- Hardware capability. For modems and equipment, we evaluate band support, antenna options, and future-proofing.
Editorial independence
We do not accept payment for placement. Affiliate links may pay us a commission when you purchase through them, but those commissions never determine ranking, inclusion, or tone of coverage.
When a manufacturer or carrier offers us review units, we accept them, disclose it, and retain editorial control. If we can't evaluate a product fairly due to conflict, we don't cover it.
Updates
Fixed wireless is a moving target — carriers change plans, prices, and coverage frequently. Every review carries a date; we re-verify key facts monthly. If you spot an error or stale data, email us and we'll investigate.
