LMR-400 Low Loss Coax Cable (50ft, SMA-M to TS-9)
4.4
LMR-400 is the coax cable standard for fixed wireless installs. Cheaper RG-58 or RG-174 cables have significantly more loss at 5G frequencies — you’ll lose measurable signal on any run over 15 feet. LMR-400 keeps losses minimal even at 50+ feet.
Double-check your modem’s connector type before ordering: most USB hotspots use TS-9, most panel antennas terminate in N-male or SMA-male. You may need an adapter.
Pros
- Very low loss — critical for long runs between antenna and modem
- Outdoor-rated UV jacket
- SMA male to TS-9 works with most USB modems and hotspots
- 50ft standard; bundles available for different runs
Cons
- Stiff — needs large bend radius (1.5 inch minimum)
- Bulky connectors don't fit through small wall openings
- Must match connector types to your modem's antenna ports
