One of the most overlooked upgrades in a fixed wireless install: put the modem outside near the antenna, not inside your house. Every foot of coax between antenna and modem loses signal — move the modem to the antenna and the losses disappear. Then you run Ethernet (lossless) into the house.

This enclosure mounts to a wall or pole, fits a Netgear M6 Pro or similar modem, has knockouts for cable glands, and has a small vent for temperature management. Pair with a PoE injector to deliver power over the Ethernet run.

Pros
  • Put the modem right next to the antenna — eliminates cable loss
  • NEMA 3R weather-rated enclosure
  • Built-in vent with filter, cable glands included
  • Fits M6 Pro or similar modems with room for PoE injector
Cons
  • Needs AC or PoE run to the enclosure
  • Modem heat can be an issue in direct sun — add ventilation
  • Adds $129 to the total install cost
