T-Mobile 5G Gateway G4AR
3.9
Image: T-Mobile
The G4AR is T-Mobile’s latest included gateway, replacing the older Nokia FastMile. It supports n41 (2.5GHz Ultra Capacity) and combines modem plus WiFi 6 router plus integrated antennas into a single tower-shaped unit.
The main limitation vs. an unlocked modem: no external antenna ports. If your signal is marginal, you have no way to hook up a directional antenna on the roof — you’re stuck relocating the gateway itself.
Pros
- Included free with T-Mobile Home Internet service
- WiFi 6 with mesh-compatible architecture
- Built-in 5G n41 antenna array tuned for T-Mobile's network
- Simple plug-and-play setup, managed via app
Cons
- No external antenna ports — stuck with internal antennas
- Only 2 Ethernet ports (one often needed for a switch)
- Locked to T-Mobile network
